Program Description

The History/Political Science Major has two major goals. The first is to develop skills in critical thinking and the objective analysis of contemporary events, skills that are vital necessities for all citizens in a democracy. The second goal is to develop an understanding of our evolving institutions and philosophical values. If these two goals are met, a student will be prepared for careers in teaching, public service, environmental studies, law and related fields.
