Southampton College of Long Island University is pleased to announce the 28th Annual Southampton Writers Conference. As part of the Southampton College Writing Program, the Conference provides a forum for authors of all genres to study and discuss writing. Through workshops, lectures, readings and small-group discussion, the Conference offers inspiration and guidance to new writers, established writers, teachers of writing, editors and qualified auditors.
Our workshop faculty is comprised of successful and prolific writers who, in addition to leading two-hour workshops every other day, will perform an Evening Reading and present one morning Craft Lecture. A variety of guests will deliver Afternoon Readings every day at 4pm, and there will be Panel Discussions on relevant topics. Distinguished Guests will join us for an Evening Reading. In addition, editors and agents will be available to speak to attendees about the business side of writing.
The goal of the 2003 Southampton College Writers Conference is to offer each participant an opportunity to improve his/her writing skills as well as his/her editing, revision and critiquing skills.
