Now in its twenty-seventh year, the Writers Conference at Southampton College has a successful and diverse history. A distinguished and varied list of writers has helped improve our Writers Conference from year to year.
The seaside campus of Southampton College is located in the heart of the Hamptons, a renowned resort area only seventy miles from New York City. During free time, participants can draw inspiration from the picturesque towns and well-preserved beaches, which provide an ideal setting for a Writers Conference that is both productive and enjoyable.
Each summer, established writers merge with beginning and advanced writers, committed students and interested teachers for an intensive exploration of the craft of writing. A varied program of workshops, readings and lectures is designed to promote fresh and challenging perspectives on writing and encourage a meaningful exchange of ideas.
The Southampton College Writers Conference has consistently attracted gifted, successful writers whose knowledge and expertise help create lively and motivating workshops, as well as interesting, entertaining readings and lectures.
