Southampton College Earns Top Seed For The 2004 ECAC Division II Women's Basketball Championship Hosted By Philadelphia University

631-287-8313Southampton, NY -- Finishing the regular-season with a 19-9 overall record, Southampton College has been awarded the top seed for the 2004 ECAC Division II Women's Basketball Championship. The Colonials receive a bye through the first round of the tournament guaranteeing them a spot in Saturday's final. Philadelphia University, which finished the regular season with an identical 19-9 mark, will host this year's tournament. Thursday's first-round match-up to advance to Saturday's final will be the first meeting this season between Philadelphia and Bloomfield.
Game-time for the 2004 ECAC Division II Women's Basketball Championship is set for 3:00 pm on this Saturday, March 13th at Philadelphia University. The game will feature the winner of Thursday night's contest, and the No. 1 seed Southampton. The hosts from Philadelphia split their season series with Southampton, both teams winning on their home floor. The Rams defeated the Colonials at home 71-66 in January, then dropped a 68-62 decision at Southampton a month later.
