The 73-credit B.S. in Business Administration allows you to follow a general business program or specialize in entrepreneurship, not-for-profit management or international business. Classes are taught by faculty members who are experts in their fields and working professionals. Their involvement in the business world outside of the classroom lends a "real world" relevance to their lectures and to your studies. They also serve as advisors and mentors in guiding your course selection, exploring career options and assisting in securing work-study opportunities and job placements.

The 64-credit B.A. in Business Administration offers an alternative business curriculum specifically developed for transfer and evening students, emphasizing the psychological and sociological aspects of business. Students are required to complete fundamental and basic business core courses in addition to two advanced business courses and at least one advanced course in Political Science, Sociology or Psychology.

Similar to the undergraduate educational programs, both graduate-level degrees provide the opportunity for you to meet and work with local teachers and principals. Note - New York State Education Certification requirements will change in 2000. Southampton's Education programs will be changed to meet the new requirements.

B.S./M.S. in Accounting

This combined bachelor and master degree of science in accounting is the most efficient way possible to obtain a master’s degree and begin an accounting career with excellent credentials. The combined degree meets the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Education Year 2004 training requirements to sit for the CPA examination and reduces the amount of on- the-job experience required before taking that exam from two years to one.

This 150-credit program saves 14 credits and thousands of dollars over the conventional method of earning a bachelor and master’s degree. The course of study is outlined on the accompanying pages. We welcome inquiries from all motivated students, transfer and entering freshman alike, interested in pursuing a career in accounting. Entrance into the graduate portion of the program, which begins in the fourth year of full time study, requires a 2.75 overall GPA and a 3.0 in business major courses.

The accounting curriculum prepares students for careers in public, private, and governmental accounting. Also a student possessing a business degree with a major in accounting has acquired skills beneficial to other business careers.
