Resources and Facilities
With major construction and renovation projects completed, our facilities and resources are better than ever before.

Chancellors Hall
Our new academic center has officially opened its doors , housing six classrooms, state-of-the-art science and computer labs, a high-tech lecture hall, faculty offices and broadcast studios for WPBX FM, the College's National Public Radio affiliate. Spacious, furnished lobbies offer a comfortable place to study or meet with friends. Ergonomically-designed classrooms and laboratories offer the perfect environment for learning.

THE MARINE SCIENCE CENTER
Southampton is one of the few schools in the country with a marine science center right on campus. The center, situated on Shinnecock Bay, is equipped with classrooms, laboratories, a water quality lab, an aquaculture lab, and docks for the College's fleet of research vessels including the RV Paumanok and the RV Shinnecock.

THE RADIO STATION
The College is home to WPBX FM 88.3, a National Public Radio affiliate and one of the area's most powerful stations, broadcasting at 25,000 watts, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Station provides a practical broadcasting laboratory where student volunteers work on various facets of the medium - production engineering, music directing, office management, copywriting news breaks and public service announcements, and satellite engineering. Its NPR affiliations make it possible for the station to serve as a pragmatic learning environment where students gain significant hands-on professional experience.

THE TECHNOLOGY CENTER
The College's Technology Center is a comprehensive facility that supports and coordinates, all high-end computer activity on campus. Its centerpiece is the Island Room, a state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary computer environment that serves as a classroom for courses that use computer technology in an essential way, and as a project room for student and faculty work. It also includes the College Web Studio and the offices and computer facilities of the Theoretical and Computational Studies Group. Because of the Center's heavy emphasis on design and visual computing, it is equipped with 20 Silicon Graphics workstations and a server in addition to high-end peripheral devices. Both the Web Studio and the Theoretical and Computational Studies Group boast similar high-end hardware, peripherals and software.

ACADEMIC COMPUTING LABS
Academic computing offices as well as three computer labs are located in the Queen Anne Computer Center. Computer labs are also located in the Business Center, Fine Arts Building, Library, Natural Science Building, and Southampton Hall. All computers are connected to the campus-wide network. In addition, all dorm rooms have network cable connections allowing students with their own computers to access the Internet. Student e-mail accounts are also available.

THE LIBRARY
The Library is the center of academic activity on campus. Its on-site resources include more than 150,000 volumes, nearly 700 periodical titles, 400 serials and 20 newspapers. Southampton students also have access to the University's 2.4 million volume collection as well as millions of additional volumes through the College's membership in the Long Island Library Resources Council.

The FINE ARTS CENTER
